Our Work

In partnership with the Los Gatos Public Library, and funded by a grant from the Town of Los Gatos, we hold monthly talks led by experts on plant-based diets and health, sustainability, animal welfare, and social justice. Our events are a great place to meet like-minded friends and build a supportive plant-based community. 

Our online cooking demonstrations by professional chefs and plant-based experts are very popular and tons of fun - make sure to join our next one! 

In January 2024, we hosted a screening of the documentary Eating Our Way to Extinction at the Los Gatos Theater that drew over 110 attendees from the community. 

We're working with local K-12 schools to offer plant-based milk options, such as successfully introducing a plant-based milk dispenser, increasing plant-based option for students, and hosting fun events like taste testing plant-based burgers.

We're working with the Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce and local restaurants and wineries to advocate for more plant-based options. 

In collaboration with Santa Clara County's Public Defender’s Office, we've provided over 500

plant-based meals to unhoused communities in San Jose, CA.

At the Santa Cruz Vegfest, where we had an inspiring day engaging with our community on the benefits of plant-based diets and our advocacy work, all while enjoying a gorgeous view. 

At Acterra's Love Our Earth Festival in Palo Alto, educating community members on how plant-based diets reduce emissions and promote sustainability. 

At Spring into Green in Los Gatos, discussing the health and enviornmental benefits of plant-based burgers with future PBA members.  

We added plant-based eating to two sections of the 2040 Town of Los Gatos General Plan (pages 6-32, 8-12, 8-33). 

We're currently working with the Town of Los Gatos planning commission to add a dedicated Plant-Based Eating Education program to the 2040 General Plan.

In 2019, we successfully passed a Green Monday Resolution for the Town of Los Gatos. 

We collaborated with the Los Gatos Unitarian Church to arrange for Chlorifil Animal Sanctuary to provide humane education to Sunday school students.
